Carolyn C. Johnson, PhD, FAAHB, is a Professor in the Department of Global Community Health and Behavioral Sciences at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and a licensed professional counselor. Dr. Johnson is the director of the Tulane Prevention Research Center (PRC), overseeing the center’s core project Movin’ for LIFE and managing the center’s evaluation. Her research interests include behavioral medicine: modification of risk factors for cardiovascular disease, cancer and other chronic diseases, such as smoking, diet, physical activity and stress; school-based health promotion; community prevention; women’s health. Dr. Johnson is the author of over 90 peer-reviewed publications. She received a PhD from the University of New Orleans and a Master’s of Science from San Diego State University. For fun, Dr. Johnson is an avid reader of anything and everything, likes cheering on the New Orleans Saints and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and travels the globe for work and pleasure.
