Jeanette Gustat is Faculty Co-Investigator for the Tulane Prevention Research Center’s (PRC) core project Movin’ for LIFE and was a co-investigator for the center’s previous core projects, as well. She is an Associate Professor of Clinical Epidemiology in the Department of Epidemiology at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Dr. Gustat holds degrees from the Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana in political science/English (BA); and from Tulane SPHTM in International Public Health (MPH) and Epidemiology (PhD). She began her career as a Project Administrator for the Bogalusa Heart Study and Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at Tulane SPHTM. Additionally, she has had research projects funded by the RWJF Active Living Research program, the CDC Special Interest Project (SIP) and the National Institute of Aging. She has also consulted on projects funded by the CDC and the RWJF to examine the relationships of parks to physical activity. Her research focuses on the relationship of physical activity and obesity to the built environment as well as to cardiovascular risk factor outcomes.
